Temperatures are set to rise slightly across Jordan, resulting in relatively hot weather in most regions and intense heat in the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its forecast for Monday and Tuesday.

Toward Wednesday, mercury levels are predicted to dip a few degrees, but the weather remains relatively hot in most areas of the kingdom. The Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, however, are still expected to be particularly hot. The northwesterly winds will be moderate, occasionally picking up.

Additionally, the weather service has issued a warning about the danger of direct sun exposure during peak hours, particularly in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba. The public has been cautioned to take precautions, such as wearing sunscreen and avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun, in order to prevent heat-related illnesses.

Today’s peak temperatures will be between 31 and 33 degrees Celsius in Amman and various highlands throughout the Kingdom, with lows of 21C or even 17C in the northern highlands at night. The Gulf city of Aqaba will have scorching weather, with highs of 42C and lows of 28C.
