Sweltering conditions persist across kingdom, with fluctuating temperatures

A range of high temperatures is expected across the Kingdom throughout the week, according to the latest weather forecast by the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD). On Sunday, the mountainous areas and plains will bask in moderately hot weather, while the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba will be sweltering under intense heat.

The winds will blow from the northwest, maintaining a moderate speed, but sporadically picking up.

On Monday, a slight upturn in temperatures is forecast. The highlands and plains will continue to enjoy moderately hot conditions, while the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba will remain immersed in scorching heat. The northwest winds will persist, displaying a moderate pace, occasionally intensifying.

As the week progresses, temperatures will steadily climb on Tuesday, keeping it relatively hot in the mountainous areas and plains, while the rest of the regions will be subject to persistently hot conditions. The prevailing winds will maintain a moderate northwesterly direction, occasionally becoming active.

By Wednesday, a slight dip in temperatures will bring a minor respite. However, the mountainous areas and plains will still endure relatively hot weather, while the other regions will continue to grapple with high temperatures.

Today’s peak temperatures will be between 32 and 30 degrees Celsius in Amman and various highlands throughout the Kingdom, with lows of 19 or even 17 degrees in the southern highlands at night. The Gulf city of Aqaba will have scorching weather, with highs of 39C and lows of 25C.
