Jordanian Exporters Association (JEA) Vice President Ahmad Al-Khudari has inaugurated the Kingdom’s pavilion participating in Fancy Food Show 2023, which commenced on Sunday in New York City.

According to a statement issued by JEA on Monday, some 13 major Jordanian companies specializing in the production of Arab desserts, spices, thyme, nuts, and coffee are currently taking part in the three-day fair.

Al-Khudari expressed the association’s desire to continuously organize Jordan’s involvement in such exhibitions, considering it the largest specialized event in food and beverages in North America that attracts exhibitors and visitors from various countries worldwide.

Additionally, he emphasized that the association’s participation in the expo is part of its plans and programs to enable the national industry to explore new markets.

Furthermore, Al-KhudarI noted that the event serves as a key commercial platform and opportunity for national corporations to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the food and beverage industry, exchange experiences and expertise, and seek to conclude commercial deals.

JEA general director, Halim Abu Rahma, highlighted the impressive turnout of traders and visitors at the Jordanian pavilion, noting that the local industries have gained an excellent reputation in the U.S. market, leveraging from the advantages of the free trade agreement (FTA) signed between the two countries.

It is worth noting that Jordan signed an FTA with the U.S. in 2000, aimed at fostering friendship and economic, trade, and investment cooperation.

During the first quarter of 2023, national exports to the U.S. increased by 8% to reach JD394 million, compared to JD365 million for the same period last year, according to official data.
