Moderate weather persists for remainder of week, Khamasini depression expected Friday

Wednesday’s forecast indicates moderate temperatures prevailing in most regions, while it will be hot in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, according to the latest weather reports by the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).
Moving into Thursday, a tangible rise in temperatures is expected across the Kingdom. While the mountainous regions will enjoy more moderate conditions, the Badia, plains, the Jordan Valley, and Aqaba will experience relatively hot weather. Cloud formations at different altitudes are also anticipated, with moderate southwesterly winds gently brushing across the landscape.
By the end of the week, on Friday, a Khamasini depression is set to sweep through the country, causing temperatures to surge significantly by 5-6 degrees above average for this time of year. Dusty and hot conditions will prevail throughout most regions, with a potential for scattered showers accompanied by thunderstorms.
Today’s peak temperatures will be between 28 and 26 degrees Celsius in Amman and various highlands throughout the Kingdom, with lows of 17 or even 15 degrees in the southern highlands at night. The Gulf city of Aqaba will have warmer weather, with highs of 36C and lows of 24C.
