House Speaker calls for closer Jordan-Iraq ties

Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament Ahmed Safadi on Tuesday emphasized the importance of fostering closer parliamentary ties between Iraq and Jordan in order to advance both nations’ shared interests and address issues facing the Arab world.

During a meeting with Hassan Al-Mandalawi, the first deputy speaker of the Iraqi House of Representatives, Safadi underscored the need to move forward with projects involving Jordan, Iraq, and Egypt as part of a tripartite cooperation agreement.

Safadi stressed Jordan’s commitment to the stability and unity of Iraq, saying the Kingdom will continue to assist Iraq in its efforts to reclaim its position in the region.

Al-Mandalawi, for his part, expressed appreciation for Jordan’s support of Iraq in maintaining the country’s stability and security.
