Temperatures on Thursday are expected to rise a few degrees, but will remain slightly below the seasonal average, bringing moderate weather conditions in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, while it will be relatively cold in the highlands, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.
Clouds at low altitudes are also forecast to form, with southwesterly moderate winds, the JMD added.
A further increase in mercury levels is expected on Friday. Therefore, it will be sunny and pleasant in the highlands, and relatively warm in other regions, with southeasterly moderate winds, the JMD noted.
Temperatures will drop again on Saturday, triggering relatively cold weather in much of the country, except in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba where it will be fair, with clouds at various altitudes.
Toward afternoon, the Kingdom will be affected by a cold and wet air mass accompanied by a depression centered over Cyprus, pushing mercury down and bringing cold and cloudy conditions with spotty showers in the northern areas extending later to cover the central region, the JMD predicted.
Today, temperatures in the capital Amman will range between a high of 15 degrees Celsius and a low of 10C at night, while the port city of Aqaba will see a fair 26C, sliding to 15C at night.
