The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) are participating in the International Tourism Fair (Fitur) 2023, held in the Spanish capital, Madrid, from January 18 to 22.

The Jordanian pavilion includes the Royal Jordanian Airlines (RJ), the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA), and 18 Jordanian tourism offices.

On the Fair’s sidelines and in the presence of Tourism Minister and JTB Chairman Makram Queisi, a charter air agreement was signed on Wednesday, allowing the arrival of 32 flights from Spain and Portugal through Avoris Reinventing Travel.

Queisi said that participating in one of the world’s biggest tourism fairs highlights Jordan’s “attractive tourism location.” Several agreements will be signed during the event to “positively impact the Kingdom,” he added.

Pointing to the Fair’s significance, JTB Director-General Abdul Razzaq Arabiyyat said Fitur is the world’s third-largest tourism fair, falling behind London and Berlin fairs.

Senior Spanish tourism officials, offices, and journalists will be invited for work meetings with the Jordanian delegation, he stated, adding that a promotional campaign of Jordan will be launched outside the fair.

According to Jordanian Ambassador in Spain Areej Hawamdeh, more than 10,000 tourism companies from 165 countries are taking part in the event. She said, “Investment opportunities and cooperation between various tourism institutions will be tackled during the fair”.
