TRC partakes in MENA telecommunications, media forum

The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) participated in the Middle East and North Africa Telecommunications and Media Forum organized by the International Institute of Communications (IIC) from September 13 to 15 in the Bahraini capital, Manama.

According to a statement released by the TRC on Thursday, the forum discussed the most recent advancements in the information technology and communication sector as well as the best practices of communication regulators, media, individuals, and policymakers.

In addition to fostering a dynamic media environment, upgrading content services, and taking a policy and regulatory approach to digital markets, platforms, and services, participants discussed regulatory commissions’ goals and priorities as well as issues like cyber and infrastructure security, climate change, sustainable development, and digital transformation.

The event featured prominent speakers in the information technology and communication sectors from Jordan, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, Germany, the United States, and other countries.

The International Institute of Communications (IIC), established in 1969, works on framing global policy agenda related to information technology and communication system and digital solutions, while evaluating and transparently discussing the effect of technical innovation on societies.
