Relatively hot weather is expected to prevail in the highlands and the plains, while it will be hot in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, Aqaba and the Badia areas, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its forecast for Monday.
Mercury levels will rise few degrees on Tuesday, bringing hot weather in most parts of the Kingdom, except in the heights where it will be relatively hot, with northwesterly moderate to brisk winds, the forecasters added.
As we head into Wednesday, temperatures will continue to soar as the country will be gripped by a brutal heat wave that will trigger scorching conditions in most regions, the JMD predicted, noting that the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba are set to swelter in blistering weather.
The highs in Amman and other highlands across the Kingdom today will range between 34 and 30 degrees Celsius. In the late afternoon and evening hours, cooler weather is forecast as mercury levels slide to around 20C.
In the port city of Aqaba, daytime temperatures will stand at 41C, while lows will drop to 28C at night.
