Royal Court Chief, head of the Follow-up Committee on His Majesty King Abdullah’s Initiatives, Yousef Al-Issawi, on Saturday handed over nine buses to charitable societies and clubs working in the field of care for orphans and persons with disabilities.
Minister of Social Development Hala Lattouf, Youth Minister Makram Al-Qaisi and Amman Governor Saad Shehab attended the Royal Court ceremony to deliver the vehicles, which the King had pledged during a series of recent field tours across the Kingdom.
Issawi said in remarks during the ceremony that the gesture is one in a series of royal initiatives to upgrade the quality of services to citizens in various fields and improve the standard of living for them, particularly those with disabilities and the orphans, to whom the King attaches great attention and care.
He added that His Majesty places sustainable social and economic development at the top of his priorities to make a qualitative leap in public services nationwide.
“This Royal initiative contributes to improving the level of services provided in care homes and centers for the rehab of persons with disabilities, the elderly and orphans, and to meet their developmental and sports needs as well as the needs of youth”, said Social Development Minister Lattouf.
She pointed out that such gestures are part of royal initiatives to establish and expand many care and rehab centers and provide them with the necessary equipment, as well as supporting sports clubs to elevate the level and quality of such services to beneficiaries.
