Temperatures to soar 5 degrees above average as hot air mass prevails

The country will be affected by a hot and dry air mass on Thursday that is expected to push temperatures 4-5 degrees above their annual average, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.
Hot and dry weather will prevail nationwide, with clouds at medium altitude in the eastern region, and northeasterly to northwesterly moderate winds, picking up in the Badia.
The impact of the hot air mass will deepen on Friday with another rise in temperatures. The weather will be hot and dry across the Kingdom, with easterly dust-raising moderate winds.
On Saturday, the air mass is forecast to recede with temperatures decreasing, bringing regular summer weather in the high areas, while it will remain hot in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba.
Today, mercury in Amman is expected to range between a high of 35 degrees Celsius, dropping to 20C at night, meanwhile, the port city of Aqaba will see a high of 40C, dipping to 27 during night hours.
