Princess Basma honors sponsors of Queen Alia Competition for Social Responsibility

Her Royal Highness Princess Basma Bint Talal on Wednesday honored the sponsors and participants of the 2021 Queen Alia Competition for Social Responsibility.

Her Highness also handed over a financial support of JD15,000 from the proceeds of the competition to the learning resource rooms in the Ministry of Education, as well as JD70,000 to the Al-Rajaa School for the Hearing Impaired, affiliated with the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development (JOHUD), in the Rusaifa District, east.

Princess Basma also honored the first deaf doctor specializing in special education in Jordan, Dr. Islam Al-Jadoa. During a ceremony at Al-Rajaa School, Her Highness said that the competition had, over the past years, left a clear imprint in promoting and developing learning opportunities, instilling the values of active, positive and voluntary participation among students, and guiding them towards dealing effectively with current and future challenges.

She indicated that the competition reached various segments of society, and helped students with hearing disabilities to engage in the educational process, providing them with the necessary educational and learning skills and knowledge, and enabling them to achieve their ambitions and integrate into society.

Her Highness said that the theme of the 2022 edition of the competition will be consistent with the United Nations Decade for Ecosystem Restoration, with the aim of drawing attention to the importance of renewing and reviving sustainable ecosystems.
