Wheat stock sufficient for 15 months, says official

Chairman of Jordan Silos and Supply General Company, Anwar Ajarmeh, on Wednesday said that stock at the company’s warehouses and ground containers can cover the local market’s consumption for about 15 months of wheat and 11 months of barley and bran.

Director General of the company Emad Tarawneh confirmed the company’s capability of unloading two grain ships every 5 days, and storing up to 735,000 tons of grain and 11,600 tons of refrigerants, noting that it has 45,000 square meters designated to store dry foodstuff.

“Juwaida Mill can supply the local market with 400 tons of high-quality flour on a daily basis,” he added.
