Cold weather to prevail countrywide on Sunday

A slight rise in temperatures is expected on Sunday, but cold weather will prevail almost countrywide, while it will be fair in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.

Clouds will appear at low altitudes, and winds will be westerly moderate.

The JMD warned of low horizontal visibility due to fog in the early morning and night hours over highlands and parts of the Badia regions.

Another rise in temperatures is forecast on Monday and Tuesday, bringing pleasant and sunny conditions in most parts of the country, with high-altitude clouds and westerly moderate winds.

Mercury in Amman today will hover around 14 degrees Celsius, dipping into 4C at night, while the Gulf of Aqaba will see a fair 24C, dropping to 12C during night hours.
