Jordan denounces forced eviction of Palestinian families in Sheikh Jarrah

Jordan on Monday denounced the forced eviction of Palestinian families in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood in occupied Jerusalem, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.
The ministry’s spokesperson Haitham Abu Al Foul said that the displacement of Palestinians in the occupied East Jerusalem is a violation to international and humanitarian laws, adding that Israel as an occupation force is responsible for protecting Palestinians rights, in accordance with international law.
“The ongoing unilateral Israeli actions of confiscating Palestinian lands and demolishing homes are illegal practices that set up the occupation and undermine the chances of achieving just and comprehensive peace on the basis of a two-state solution,” he noted.
