Domestic revenues increased by JD864.7m in first 8 months of 2021

Domestic revenues during the first eight months of 2021 witnessed a rise of JD864.7 million, compared with the same period in 2020, the Ministry of Finance announced on Tuesday.

In a statement, the ministry’s figures showed that tax collections increased by JD514.7 million, while non-tax revenues by JD350 million during the January-August period of this year.

“The rise indicates that Jordan has mapped out the right route for post-pandemic economic recovery and growth, in addition to combating tax evasion and tax avoidance, while enhancing tax compliance,” the statement added.

Meanwhile, the public expenditures went up by 7.8 percent during the first eight months, with an increase totaling JD449.4 million, compared with the same period of last year, while the public budget deficit dropped by JD347.5 million to reach JD698.6 million during the first eight months of 2021.
