Temperatures on Tuesday are expected to rise, becoming 7-9 degrees above their annual average, so it will be warm countrywide, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.
At night, clouds will gradually build up at various altitudes, making a chance for light showers over some parts of the central and northern regions. Winds will be westerly moderate to brisk, blowing dust in the Badia, the JMD added.
Toward Wednesday, the Kingdom will be affected by a cold air mass accompanied by a depression centered over eastern Turkey, pushing mercury levels down and bringing relatively cold and partly cloudy weather with intermittent rain in the northern and central highlands, the department forecast.
Rainfall will extend later at night to cover the southwestern areas, while winds will be northwesterly active with strong gusts exceeding 50 km/ hour and blowing dust in the Badia regions, the forecasters predicted.
As we head into Thursday, relatively cold and partly cloudy conditions will continue to prevail, with a chance for light and scattered showers in the early morning hours over the western areas of the Kingdom, the JMD further said, noting that the weather will start to stabilize in the afternoon.
The highs in Amman and other highlands across the Kingdom today will range between 24 and 26 degrees Celsius, dropping at night to 14C or even 11C in the northern highlands. In the Gulf city of Aqaba, it will be warmer with mercury reaching a high of 31C and a low of 14C.
