“AlHawa Janoubi” a campaign to stimulate tourism in the Golden Triangle

Today, Wednesday, the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority launched the national and regional campaign, “Hawa Janoubi”, to stimulate tourism in the Golden Triangle region.
This campaign is part of the activities of the South Program, which will start at the beginning of September and continue until the end of this year, to encourage tourism in the regions of: Wadi Rum, Petra, and Aqaba, taking into account the health and safety standards related to the Corona virus. The campaign includes holding many special events that are suitable for all family members, and in line with different tastes of music lovers, sports, art, folklore, culture and other activities.
Sharhabeel Madi, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Commissioners and Commissioner for Tourism at the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, during a press conference held in the capital Amman today, said: The Golden Triangle in the south is one of the most important areas to focus on because of its tourist and archaeological areas that the authority is always working to revive. He stressed that the great interest of His Majesty King Abdullah II and HRH Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, to this region “makes us think about everything that contributes to promoting it, and from here we sought to launch the South Activities Program and the “Hawa South” campaign.
Madi added that the launch of the campaign came with the aim of revitalizing tourism and reviving the Golden Triangle, which was recently announced as a green area free of cases of infection with the Corona virus, after the precautionary and preventive measures that were worked on, and also to activate the movement of local workers in those areas after they stopped working for a long time due to the repercussions of Corona virus pandemic. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat, Director General of the Tourism Promotion Authority, said that the authority will market the campaign that aims to promote Jordanian tourism in general and the Golden Triangle in particular, noting that Aqaba is one of the most desirable areas for tourists from abroad.
He also stressed the keenness of the authority to provide all support and cooperation to the authority of the Aqaba region for the success of the program and its circulation inside and outside Jordan with the aim of attracting the largest possible number of visitors, through the promotional program that the authority will carry out for the purpose of marketing the campaign and to encourage everyone to make the south their preferred destination during the coming period and enjoy the diversity of events.
