Mercury levels on Monday are expected to hover around annual average, so normal summer weather will prevail in the highlands, while it will be relatively hot to hot in the Kingdom’s other regions, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).
The weather department warned the public of direct exposure to sunlight, mainly at noon, and of poor visibility due to dust in the Badia areas.
On Tuesday, temperatures will slightly rise, but similar weather conditions will continue to persist, with northwesterly moderate winds, forecasters said.
Toward Wednesday, a further increase in mercury levels is predicted, becoming 5-6 degrees above norms for this time of the year and bringing hot conditions in the heights and the plains, and scorching weather in other areas, the JMD added.
The highs in Amman and other highlands across the Kingdom on Monday will range between 29 and 33 degrees Celsius, dropping at night to 20C or even 16C in the northern highlands. In the Gulf city of Aqaba, it will be much hotter with mercury reaching a high of 40C and a low of 28C.
