The University of Jordan (UJ) was ranked first locally and 22nd regionally at the Times Higher Education Arab University Rankings 2021, issued on July to reveal the strength of higher education across the Arab region.
A statement on Sunday by the UJ president, Abdel-Karim al-Qudah, said that such achievement will contribute to attaining the university’s comprehensive development at all levels.
For his part, the university’s Director of the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Center, Munawwar Al-Trakiya, stated that UJ was distinguished among its local counterparts in standards of education, scientific research and international outlook, while it ranked sixth in the education standard and tenth in the field of scientific research on the regional level.
The Times Higher Education Arab University Rankings’ methodology is based on the same framework as the World University Rankings, but some adjustments have been made and some new metrics have been included to reflect the features and missions of universities in the Middle East and North Africa. Universities are judged across all their core missions; teaching, research, society and international outlook, to provide the most comprehensive and balanced comparisons available.
