Hot weather to prevail countrywide today

A slight rise in temperatures is expected on Wednesday, making relatively hot weather in the highlands and the plains, and hot conditions in other regions, with northwesterly moderate to active winds, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.
As we head into Thursday, the Kingdom will be affected again by a hot air mass, pushing temperatures 3-4 degrees above annual average and bringing hot weather in the Badia areas and the plains, and scorching conditions in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, while it will remain relatively hot in the highlands, the JMD predicted.
On Friday, Similar weather conditions will continue to persist, with northwesterly moderate to brisk winds, the JMD noted.
The highs in Amman and other highlands across the Kingdom today will range between 29 and 34 degrees Celsius, dropping at night to 20C or even 17C in the northern highlands, the JMD added. The weather will be hotter in the port city of Aqaba with highs jumping to 41 degrees and lows sliding to 28C.
