The Kingdom on Thursday will be affected by a relatively hot air mass, pushing temperatures up to become few degrees above annual average, so it will be hot in most parts of the country, except in the highlands where moderate summer weather will prevail, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).
The JMD warned against direct exposure to sunlight in the afternoon, mainly in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba.
On Friday, a further increase in mercury levels is forecast, but similar weather conditions will continue to persist, with northwesterly moderate winds, the JMD added.
Temperatures will continue to rise on Saturday, making relatively hot weather in the mountains and the plains, and hot conditions in other regions, while winds will be northwesterly moderate, the JMD noted.
The highs in Amman and other highlands across the Kingdom on Thursday will range between 27 and 32 degrees Celsius, dropping at night to 19C or even 15C in the southern highlands. In the city of Aqaba, it will be much hotter with mercury reaching a high of 39C and a low of 27C.
