Jordan on Tuesday will be affected by unstable weather conditions, so partly cloudy weather will prevail with spotty showers in the southern highlands stretching to cover the eastern and central regions of the Kingdom, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.
Rainfall is expected to become heavier accompanied by thunder, lightning and hail, causing flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas, mainly in the southern part of the Kingdom and the Dead Sea, while winds will be southeasterly active, blowing dust in the Badia, the JMD added.
The weather department warned of poor visibility in the desert due to dust, slippery roads in the areas experiencing rain, floods formation, and the high waves in the Gulf port of Aqaba.
As we head into Wednesday, cold and partly cloudy weather will continue to persist with intermittent rain that may turn heavy with thunder and hail in the early morning hours over the southern and the southeastern areas, the JMD predicted.
In the afternoon, skies will gradually clear, rainfall will taper off and the weather will stabilize, while winds will be northeasterly to northwesterly moderate to brisk, stirring dust in the southern highlands, the forecasters said.
Toward Thursday, the weather is forecast to be cold in the Kingdom’s most regions, and fair in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, with low clouds and westerly moderate winds, the JMD also noted.
Temperatures in Amman will reach 15 degrees Celsius, dropping to 5C during night, while the Gulf of Aqaba will see a fair 23C, dipping to 12C during night hours.
