The Department of Statistics in cooperation with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) will hold a seminar on Tuesday to announce the results of the “Jordan Population and Family Health Survey”.
The Survey was conducted by the Department in 2017-2018 in cooperation with the USAID, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
The Department’s Director General, Qasem Zoubi, said in a statement that after announcing the survey results, the department will focus on accomplishing the results of the surveys on household income and expenditure as well as the poverty indicators.
He pointed to the importance of such surveys to have a solid base for information to demonstrate the impact of poor reproductive health services in weakening the chances of the poor to really get rid of poverty.
This health and family survey is the seventh of a series of demographic and health surveys carried out in Jordan.
The survey aims to provide comprehensive data on levels of reproduction, marriage, reproductive preferences and family planning methods, as well as breastfeeding, nutrition, child mortality, maternal and child health and immunodeficiency diseases.
