40th Jerash Festival Brings Musical Legacy to Life at Historic Roman Amphitheatre

 Embracing the ethos “A Legacy Spans… Generations Meet,” the 40th Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts filled Amman’s historic Roman Amphitheatre with national melody on Saturday, spotlighting the enduring vitality of Jordan’s cultural heritage.

Organized by the Jordanian Artists Association in partnership with festival leadership, the evening drew a vibrant crowd alongside Association President Dr. Hani Al-Jarrah, board members, visiting Arab artists, and media figures–underscoring the festival’s role as a primary showcase for local creative talent.

The performance paid homage to foundational figures of Jordanian music, reviving timeless classics by late legendary artists Abdo Musa and Faris Awad, whose works continue to define the nation’s musical repertoire.

Singers Nancy Petro, Tawfiq Al-Dalo, and Mahmoud Al-Khayyat took the stage alongside the “Harakat Kart” ensemble, directed by Maestro Bahaa Al-Daoud. Together, they delivered a dynamic set that seamlessly wove traditional tarab and classic folk roots with contemporary arrangements.

The concert forms part of the festival’s ongoing mission to champion home-grown artists, safeguard living heritage, and bridge generations through authentic yet evolving artistic expression.

Cultural programming continues at the Roman Amphitheatre tonight at 8:30 PM, featuring a stellar lineup of local vocalists including Rami Shafiq, Ribhi Rabah, Ruwaida Al-Aas, and Hussam Al-Mahameed.
