[KOICA Alumni Association of Jordan (KAAJ) Holds a Knowledge-Sharing Seminar]

KOICA Jordan Office, in collaboration with the KOICA Alumni Association of Jordan (KAAJ), conducted a knowledge-sharing seminar on September 25, 2024. The seminar focused on the Capacity Building programs held by KOICA for various ministries and government institutions.
The seminar aimed to disseminate the knowledge and lessons learned from the KOICA training programs, which took place in 2024 in Korea, with participation from officials representing the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, the Ministry of Labor, and the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation. The seminar also featured discussions on the following topics:
- “Capacity Building of Government to Achieve Gender Equality in the World of Work,” presented by Ms. Mushira Alashran, Head of Electronic Contents and Media Department at the Ministry of Labor.
- “Capacity Building on Strengthening the Statistical Ability of SDGs Indicators,” presented by Ms. Arrej Khabour, Statistician at the Sustainable Development Unit at the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation.
- “Integrated Water Resources Management” presented by Mr. Osama Althaimer, Head of the Environment and Climate Change Department at the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, Ms. Wafa Obeid, Head of the Geographic Information System Department at the Water Authority of Jordan, and Eng. Musaab Ahmad, Head of the Investment Unit Section at the Jordan Valley Authority.
- “Enhancing Educational Frameworks to Strengthen SDG Indicator Competence,” presented by Mr. Mohammad Shouli, Education Technology Manager at the Queen Rania Center for Education and Information Technology, Ministry of Education.
The seminar provided participants with a valuable platform to exchange ideas and discuss the practical implementation of the knowledge gained during the training. It emphasized the importance of using this expertise to address key challenges in Jordan. The exchange of experiences and best practices further highlighted the effectiveness of the Capacity Building programs.
Since 1991, KOICA has been providing training programs to Jordan as part of its CIAT (Capacity Improvement and Advancement for Tomorrow) program, aimed at enhancing human resource capacity for the country’s socio-economic development. Over 1143 Jordanian officials have participated in training programs in Korea to date.
