Global COVID-19 deaths top 5.4mn

 The total number of global COVID-19 deaths has surged to 5.4 million, as of Sunday, according to the Johns Hopkins University.

In its latest update, the university revealed that the current global caseload reached around 289.3 million, adding that more than 9.16 billion doses of the coronavirus vaccines were administered.
