قال رئيس جامعة ال البيت الدكتور عدنان العتوم ان الجامعة طرحت عطاء لاستثمار 2000 دونم من الاراضي الزراعية داخل حرم الجامعة لغايات استحداث مشاريع زراعية تعود عليها بالنفع المادي.
وقال العتوم في لقاء مع وكالة الانباء الاردنية (بترا) ان الجامعة وفي اطار سياستها الرامية لتحسين الوضع المادي عمدت على اعداد خطة استثمارية من عدة جوانب على رأسها الجانب الزراعي والاستفادة من الابار الارتوازية الاربع التي توقفت انتاجيتها لتحقيق وفر مالي يمكنها من تحسين وضعها المالي الصعب الذي تمر به.
وبين ان من ضمن الشروط التي تم وضعها في بنود العطاء الزام المتعهد بتزويد الجامعة بحاجتها من المياه في اعقاب حفر ابار مياه جديدة سيما وان الجامعة تعتمد حاليا على التزود بالمياه من قبل سلطة مياه المفرق التي تصل فاتورتها الشهرية الى 25 الف دينار الى جانب عوائد تأجير تلك الاراضي.
واضاف، ان الجامعة تدرس حاليا استحداث مجمع تجاري داخل حرمها وطرحه للاستثمار اضافة الى استحداث بعض المشاريع الصناعية التي تتناسب وطبيعة محافظة المفرق وطرحها للاستثمار، الامر الذي سيعود بالنفع على الجامعة والمجتمع المحلي من خلال توفير فرص عمل لأبناء المحافظة.
وقال العتوم، ان الجامعة عمدت ايضا الى رفع الرسوم الجامعية على الطلبة الجدد في الجامعة نظرا لتدني اسعار الساعات الجامعية مقارنة مع بعض الجامعات الاخرى، مبينا ان الكلفة المالية التي تتحملها الجامعة تبلغ 37 دينارا في ظل الرسوم الحالية للطلبة والبالغة 12 دينارا.
وقال ان الجامعة تعكف حاليا على دراسة طرح بعض البرامج والتخصصات تمهيدا لرفعها لوزارة التعليم العالي للموافقة عليها والتي ستعمل على تطوير الجامعة في التخصصات والمساقات التي تقوم على تدريسها.
واوضح رئيس الجامعة، ان الجامعة تدرس حاليا الجدوى الاقتصادية من استحداث كلية للزراعة في الجامعة وطرح تخصصات في المجال الزراعي، لاسيما وان محافظة المفرق تعد المحافظة الزراعية الاولى في المملكة، اضافة الى امكانية فتح كلية للطب، لافتا الى ان هذه الخطوات تعد من الخطوات الاساسية في سياسة الجامعة لتوفير تخصصات تتوافق مع سوق العمل الاردني.
