ACCA recognises Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA) as an approved employer – the first utilities business in the Middle East to receive this recognition.

ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) has awarded Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA) approved employer status for professional development.  

The ACCA Approved Employer certificate was presented to His Excellency Dr. Rashid Alleem, Chairman of SEWA who further reinforced SEWA’s commitment in developing current and future finance talent in the Emirate. The certificate is awarded to leading organisations that offer outstanding continuing professional development opportunities to their finance professionals and that demonstrate superior professional values, ethics and governance in the workplace.

 

The ACCA Approved Employer programme recognises employers’ high standards of staff training, accountancy resources and development for their ACCA members and trainees. 

‘Gaining approved employer status is a very exciting move both for SEWA and for us,” said Fazeela Gopalani. Head of ACCA, Middle East.  “SEWA is the first utility operation to be an approved employer in the Middle East which further reinforces the commitment placed by the leadership team in developing finance professionals which can continue to drive growth within the sector.
