أقامت جامعة الشرق الأوسط وقفة تضامنية إحياء للذكرى 71 للنكبة ، والتأكيد على عروبة القدس و تاييدًا لمواقف جلالة الملك عبدالله الثاني ابن الحسين قائد البلاد تجاه القضية المحورية والمركزية على المقدسات الإسلامية والمسيحية في القدس الشريف والوصاية الهاشمية عليها .
وشارك في الوقفة التي جاءت بمبادرة من أبناء الجالية الفلسطينية في الجامعة رئيس الجامعة الأستاذ الدكتور محمد الحيلة وعدد من الأساتذة العمداء و وأعضاء الهيئتين التدريسية والإدارية و الطلبة.
وأكد نائب عميد شؤون الطلبة الدكتور نشوان نشوان أن تنظيم هذه الفعالية جاء ليسلط الضوء على ذكرى النكبة التي حلّت على الشعب الفلسطيني، ومحاولة التهجير التي ينتهجها العدو الصهيوني بحقه، مشيراً إلى الجامعة انطلاقا من نهجها وفلسفتها تحرص على تنظيم فعاليات تحاكي الواقع الذي نعايشه هدفها الاسمى تنشئة جيل من الشباب واعي منتم لوطنه وقيادته ومواقفه ومنتم لقضايا الأمة ومتمسكا بالثوابت والقيم الاخلاقية.
من جانبه ثمن رئيس الجالية الفلسطينية في الجامعة الطالب عماد الدين لدادوة من كلية الحقوق دور الجامعة كحاضنة لانشطة الطلبة من مختلف الجاليات والثقافات تزرع بهم الانتماء وتغرس في نفوسهه الأمل بما تقدمه من دعم لجميع الانشطة المنهجية واللامنهجية الي ينفذها الطلبة تحت مظلتها.
