واكد الهميسات في بيان صحفي اليوم الثلاثاء، ان الهدف الرئيسي من اقامة المنطقة الحرة الجديدة ايجاد منطقة حرة نموذجية متعددة الاغراض لتكون ميناء محوريا ومركزا للتجارة والاستثمار في مختلف القطاعات الاقتصادية، موضحا ان المجموعة الاردنية قد وضعت خطة ترويجية متكاملة لترويج الفرص الاستثمارية في المنطقة الحرة الجديدة تهدف لجذب رؤوس الاموال ورجال الاعمال والمستثمرين المحليين والاقلييمن والدوليين للاستثمار في المنطقة للنهوض في الاقتصاد الوطني بمختلف القطاعات الاقتصادية بالاضافة الى زيادة حجم الصادرات الوطنية ودفع عجلة التنمية الاقتصادية وتشغيل الايدي العاملة للمساهمة في الحد من البطالة.
واضاف ان الفرص الاستثمارية ستشمل العديد من القطاعات اهمها القطاع الصناعي الذي يشمل الصناعات الخفيفة والمتوسطة منها الصناعات الطبية والكيميائية والغذائية والمشروبات والتبغ والمواد الثمينة وجميع الصناعات التي تعتمد بشكل مباشر على التصدير الجوي كما وتوفر المنطقة فرصا استثمارية في القطاع التجاري حيث تهدف لجذب انشطة التخزين اللوجستي منها الأدوية والمستلزمات الطبية والمواد الاستهلاكية والمواد الثمينة والتخزين المبرد للأدوية والمواد الكيميائية والبضائع المتنوعة وكذلك توفر المنطقة فرصاً استثمارية في قطاع الخدمات منها البنوك والتأمين وشركات الصرافة وملاحلات تجارية ومطاعم.
