قال رئيس مجلس مفوضي سلطة اقليم البترا التنموي السياحي الدكتور سليمان الفرجات أن السلطة موّلت حفر بئر مياه جدید في منطقة البیضا بقیمة 200 الف دینار لتأمین 100 م3/الساعة من المياه للمواطنين في لواء البترا وقد قامت وزارة المياه والري بطرح عطاء الحفر وتمت إحالته لأحد المقاولين ومن المتوقع أن يتم البدء خلال الفترة القليلة المقبلة.
وأضاف د. الفرجات أن انقطاع المياه المتكرر عن المواطنين في لواء البترا في الآونه الأخيرة دعا السلطة الى تكثيف جهودها وتواصلها مع وزارة المياه والري للخروج بحلول جذرية تتوائم مع حاجة المواطنين وطبيعة النشاط السياحي المتزايد في المنطقة وما يشكلة من ضغط على مصادر المياه في اللواء.
وبین الفرجات ان السلطة تتابع مع وزارة المياه والري لحل أزمة المياه ، مشيراً إلى نية الوزارة الجاده في الشروع بحفر وتجھیز عدد من الآبار الجدیدة لتأمین كمیات اضافیة من المياه، اضافة الى استكمال تنفیذ مشاریع میاه وصرف صحي.
واوضح الفرجات أن السلطة قد مولت جزء من مشروع نقل المياه من بئر أذرح إلى خزان “قليعه” في لواء البترا مما يسهم في تخفيف أزمة المياه التي تعاني منها المنطقة.
وفي الصدد أكد الفرجات على تنفیذ مشروع صرف صحي مخیمر لخدمة المناطق، وربطھا على شبكات الصرف الصحي خلال الفترة القليلة المقبلة، بالإضافة الى الانتھاء من الاعمال في مشروع استبدال الخط الناقل للصرف الصحي في منطقة وادي الصدر الذي انجرف نتیجة الاحوال الجویة والفیضانات والسیول التي تعرضت لها المنطقة مع نهايات العام الماضي.
